On this great occasion, Frente POLISARIO is holding their 16th National Congress. On behalf of the National Working Committee and Kenya Western Sahara Solidarity Committee (KWSSC) membership. We would like to pass our unconditional and permanent solidarity with the just struggles of the Saharawi people. We reiterate that only just wars succeed; the Saharawi War of independence is a just war. Saharawi people will eventually be victors. Your victory is our victory.

Kindly find the resolutions of the KWSSC meeting held on January 14th, 2023:

Kenya Western Sahara Solidarity Committee (KWSSC) 2023 Action plan

Background

1. Western Sahara is the last African decolonisation case on the agenda of the United Nations. It has been on the UN list of the Special Committee of 24 since 1963, when it was under Spanish colonial rule.

2. Western Sahara's decolonisation process was interrupted drastically due to Morocco's military invasion and illegal occupation of the territory on October 31st 1975. The occupation violated numerous UN and OAU resolutions and the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). In addition to the historic ruling of the ICJ, issued on October 16th 1975

3. The UN has neither approved nor recognised the legality of the Moroccan annexation of Western Sahara. More precisely, in its resolutions, the General Assembly deeply deplored the aggravation resulting from Morocco's continued occupation of the Western Sahara.

4. The Kingdom of Morocco, a member of the African Union and therefore bound by its Constitutive Act and decisions, has no right to sovereignty over Western Sahara, a position recognised by countless resolutions of the African Union, the United Nations as well as the 1975 ruling of the International Court of Justice. Only the people of Western Sahara can decide about their sovereignty and self-determination.

5. A lasting solution to the Western Sahara conflict based on a free and democratic decolonisation process will thus contribute significantly to re-establishing regional peace, stability and harmony in Northwest Africa and the Sahel. It will also lead to eliminating, once and for all, one of the most deep-seated fears in the living memory of the peoples of the region, namely expansionism and forcible territorial acquisition.

The National Working Committee of the Kenya Western Sahara Solidarity Committee meeting  in Nairobi, Kenya, on January 14th, 2023, declares unequivocally to:

1. Educate the Kenyan people on the reality of the Saharawi people while recognising the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence, and call for the exercise of that right in accordance with General Assembly Resolution 1514(xv) containing the Declaration on the granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples. This will be in the form of seminars, public lectures, pamphleteering, media appearances, panel discussions

2. Remain steadfast in support for the right to the self-determination of the peoples of Western Sahara while expanding the solidarity movement in all strata of Kenyan society, especially among intellectuals, university students, social justice organisations,  political parties etc.

3. Intensify debates among the elected leaders in Kenya, particularly members of parliament and county assemblies, encouraging them to join the campaign on decolonisation of Western Sahara and to support the position of the African Union and United Nations that these matters be resolved in a democratic, peaceful and urgent manner.

4. Initiate new leakages and strengthen the existing links with the solidarity organisations with the people of Western Sahara in Africa. To work on a collective central African plan to maximise the campaign outcomes and to share the few available resources.

5. Reach out to the Moroccan people and the progressive organisations inside the kingdom, appeal to them to put internal pressure against the leadership of the Moroccan Kingdom and help highlight the dangers of expansionism and forceful acquisition policy being implemented by the Moroccan King. This can be done through petitions and sending direct letters.

6. Perform monthly events highlighting the deteriorating situation in the occupied territory of Western Sahara, giving accounts of human rights abuses and the ongoing exploitation of natural resources in the occupied western Sahara territory. This will be in the form of marches, protests, and demonstrations at the Moroccan embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.

7. Publish Western Sahara reality in local media, and address the disinformation and lies spread against the Polisario and western Sahara people with the Moroccan agents in Nairobi.

8. Highlight the Kenyan government's policy failures and successes regarding the decolonisation of Western Sahara, including trade deals like the infamous subsidised fertiliser supply to Kenya by the Kingdom of Morocco. These are proceeds of crime stolen from the Saharawi people.

9. Bring to the fore the illegal exploitation of Western Sahara phosphate by the Moroccan Kingdom, publish and disseminate this information to the general public

10. Develop communication strategies through TV, radio, social networks, and other platforms to disseminate the struggles of the colonised Saharawi people.

11. Promote the use of social networks as a platform to denounce atrocities meted out against the innocent heroic Saharawi people by the Kingdom of Morocco while showing permanent solidarity with the Polisario Front in their war of independence

12. Express solidarity with Cuba, Venezuela and Palestine while recognising that the struggles of all the world's oppressed people are interconnected.

13 Finally, demand an immediate end to all human rights violations meted upon the innocent Saharawi People by the Kingdom of Morocco. Also, an urgent call for a peaceful referendum to enable the Saharawi people to exercise their absolute right to self-determination, freedom of conscience and self-rule.

Signed

Expose and Defeat US Imperialism, the Primary Aggressor Against Humanity May 26th, 2026   Nepal is a land of immense revolutionary history and immense contradiction. The mountains of Nepal carry the memory of armed struggle, sacrifice, and the blood of workers and peasants who rose against feudal monarchy and imperialist domination. Through the communist led anti monarchy insurgency, the old order was shaken violently. The 2001 royal massacre accelerated the collapse of feudal authority and opened the road toward the struggle for national democracy. During the ten years of People’s War,  [ ... ]
