Solidarity Statement by Booker Ngesa Omole, General Secretary of the Communist Party Marxist (CPM) of Kenya

Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nairobi

March 27, 2025

Comrades, Sisters, and Brothers in Struggle,

1.    On behalf of the Communist Party Marxist of Kenya, I extend revolutionary greetings to the Venezuelan people, the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic, and all gathered here today. We stand united in defiance of imperialism and in unwavering solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution.

Historical Ties of Resistance and Liberation

2.    The bonds between Africa and Latin America are forged in the fires of anti-colonial struggle. From Kenya’s Mau Mau uprising against British colonialism to Venezuela’s defiance of imperial domination, our peoples share a common history of fighting for sovereignty and dignity. The Bolivarian Revolution, inspired by Simón Bolívar’s dream of a united Latin America, echoes Africa’s Pan-Africanist vision; a vision where collective strength dismantles the chains of exploitation.

The National Democratic Revolution (NDR) and the Struggle for Complete Independence

3.    The battle for independence is not won with the lowering of a colonial flag; it is only won when the people control their land, resources, and destiny. In Kenya, the Mau Mau waged a heroic war against British colonialism, yet our liberation remains unfinished. Political independence did not translate to economic sovereignty. The colonial economic structures persisted, now managed by a comprador class that serves imperialist interests.

4.    Similarly, Venezuela continues to confront the legacy of foreign domination. Despite the victories of the Bolivarian Revolution, imperialist forces relentlessly attempt to undermine its sovereignty, using economic warfare and internal subversion. The struggle in Kenya and Venezuela is one: to complete the process of national liberation through a National Democratic Revolution, dismantling all remnants of colonial control, ensuring true people’s power, and securing socialism as the only guarantee of independence.

The Legacy of Comandante Hugo Chávez: A Beacon for Socialism

5.    Comandante Hugo Chávez declared, “Capitalism is the path to hell. Socialism is the path to life, to salvation for the world.” His words remain a call to struggle. Under Chávez, Venezuela stood as a bastion of socialism; nationalising resources for the people, eradicating illiteracy, and forging ALBA as a bulwark against imperialist plunder. Today, the Venezuelan people resist illegal sanctions with unshaken determination, their struggle echoing Africa’s own fight against debt slavery and economic subjugation

Condemning Economic Terrorism

6.    The United States’ unilateral sanctions are not about human rights; they are acts of economic terrorism. These coercive measures, designed to suffocate Venezuela’s economy and manufacture dissent, are neocolonial tools to install puppet regimes. Let us be clear: sanctions kill. They deprive children of medicine, families of food, and nations of their right to self-determination.

Exposing the Migrant Crisis Myth

7.    The so-called “Venezuelan migrant crisis” is a fabrication of Western media and algorithmic propaganda. While migration exists, it is not born of failure but of imperial sabotage. The U.S., which destabilizes nations from Iraq to Somalia, feigns concern for Venezuelans while fueling their displacement through sanctions. We demand an end to this hypocrisy: lift all sanctions unconditionally!

The Inevitable Fall of the U.S. Empire

8.    History teaches us that empires crumble. The Spanish Empire, built on genocide and plunder, fell. So too will the U.S. empire, rotting from within by greed and endless war. The question is not if, but how it falls. Will it cling to power through global destruction, or will humanity rise to forge a new path?

The Farce of U.S. Democracy

9.    In the U.S., democracy is a mirage. Whether led by Trump, the bigot, or Biden, the genocidaire, imperial policies persist—drone strikes, coups, and support for apartheid states. Their “democracy” serves capital, not people. As Chávez warned, “The axis of evil is Washington.”

Call to Action

10.We reaffirm our ironclad solidarity with Venezuela. We demand:

a)    Immediate lifting of all sanctions strangling Venezuela’s economy.

b)   Global progressive forces to unite against imperial aggression.

c)    Defend Venezuela as a frontline in the battle for socialism and sovereignty.

d)   Comrades, as Patrice Lumumba declared, “The future of the Congo is glorious!” So too is Venezuela’s future; and ours. Let us march together, for in our unity lies the power to bury imperialism and birth a world of justice.

¡Hasta la Victoria Siempre!

Homeland or Death —We Shall Win!

Socialism or Death—We Shall Win!

he Assassination of Patrice Lumumba 1960 to 1961   In 1960, Congo gained independence from Belgium, but this freedom was short lived. Patrice Lumumba, the first democratically elected Prime Minister, sought true economic independence, aiming to free Congo from Western exploitation. The United States and Belgium viewed this as a threat to their control over Congo’s vast resources.   To destabilise the country, they turned President Joseph Kasavubu against Lumumba, creating a political crisis. Kasavubu dismissed Lumumba on the orders of the West, but Lumumba in tu [ ... ]
